How Do I Book A Private Gondola Ride in Venice2026-07-02T10:00:42+00:00

How to Book a Private Gondola Ride in Venice

If you would like to book a private gondola ride in Venice, you have two options.

Option 1: Book at a Gondola Station

You can simply turn up at one of Venice’s official gondola stations and hire a private gondola directly from an available gondolier.

Private gondola rides are available throughout the day, and you can usually arrange the route and confirm the fare before your ride begins. During busy periods, however, you may have to wait for the next available gondola.

Option 2: Book in Advance (Recommended)

Booking in advance is the easiest way to guarantee your gondola ride, especially during weekends and the peak tourist season. It also lets you secure your preferred departure time and avoids waiting at the gondola station.

How Many Passengers Per Gondola?2026-07-02T10:06:27+00:00

A traditional Venetian gondola can accommodate up to 5 passengers, plus the gondolier. If you’re travelling in a larger group, you’ll need to book multiple gondolas. Please note that some tour operators limit their gondolas to 4 passengers, particularly when extras such as a serenade are included.

The safest option is to book a private gondola ride for up to 5 people. Prices are fixed per gondola, not per person, so the cost remains the same whether there are 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 passengers per Gondola.
